What are KNIME extensions?

KNIME extensions are collections of nodes that provide additional capabilities not present in the core KNIME environment. They can very easily be added to an existing KNIME installation. Note that KNIME extensions may be licensed differently from the core KNIME platform, in particular if they are provided by third parties or include third party packages, such as is the case with the Schrödinger KNIME extensions. At present you can download KNIME extensions that provide basic chemistry-related features such as reading and writing of common data formats and rendering 2D structures (via CDK) as well as interfaces to R.
