Can I change the default workspace for KNIME?
Yes. You can switch to a different workspace while you are running KNIME by choosing File → Switch Workspace. Alternatively you can start KNIME with a different workspace with the following command on Linux or Mac:
$SCHRODINGER/knime -data workspace-directory
On 64-bit Windows machines, using File → Switch Workspace doesn't work. To work around this problem, you can change the startup command for KNIME as follows:
- Right-click the KNIME icon on the desktop and choose Properties.
- In the Shortcut tab, put the cursor at the end of the text in the Target field.
- Add a space then type
-datafollowed by a space and the path to the desired workspace: for example,-data C:\Users\myusername\Project\knime_workspace
- Click OK.
