Can I change the default workspace for KNIME?

Yes. You can switch to a different workspace while you are running KNIME by choosing File → Switch Workspace. Alternatively you can start KNIME with a different workspace with the following command on Linux or Mac:

$SCHRODINGER/knime -data workspace-directory

On 64-bit Windows machines, using File → Switch Workspace doesn't work. To work around this problem, you can change the startup command for KNIME as follows:

1. Right-click the KNIME icon on the desktop and choose Properties.
2. In the Shortcut tab, put the cursor at the end of the text in the Target field.
3. Add a space then type -data followed by a space and the path to the desired workspace: for example,

   
    -data C:\Users\myusername\Project\knime_workspace
   

4. Click OK.

You can now start Knime with the new workspace by double-clicking the KNIME icon.
