How do I rotate or translate only a portion of the structure in the Workspace?
In Maestro, rotations and translations of a part of a structure (an atom subset) are called "local transformations". You can perform a local transformation on predefined atom subsets by choosing an item from the Local transformation toolbar button menu, picking an atom in the Workspace, then rotating or translating in the usual way with the mouse; or by choosing Global/local from the Local transformation toolbar button menu, selecting the atoms and the center for transformation in the Advanced Transformations panel, then rotating or translating.
Note: Each time you pick, the previous pick is replaced, rather than added to. If you need to pick multiple atoms to translate, click Select and use the Atom Selection dialog box.
