Maestro 8.0 runs, but panels such as the Workflow panels are failing to open. I notice that PYTHONHOME is empty in the startup message. How can I fix this problem?
The problem occurs when SCHRODINGER is set to the Schrödinger Suite 2007 installation, but Maestro is started from a previous installation, for example when maestro is aliased to the path to the previous version. In the terminal window in which Maestro was started, the variables PYTHONHOME, TCL_LIBRARY, and TK_LIBRARY display empty definitions, and the following messages are displayed:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 1, in ?
ImportError: No module named schrodinger
...
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "", line 1, in ?
NameError: name 'maestro' is not defined
Maestro should instead be started with the full command: $SCHRODINGER/maestro. If you want to use an alias, do the following:
| csh/tcsh: | alias maestro '$SCHRODINGER/maestro' |
| bash: | alias maestro='$SCHRODINGER/maestro' |
This alias ensures that the current SCHRODINGER is always used: the substitution for $SCHRODINGER does not take place until the aliased command is executed. The single quotes are required to ensure that $SCHRODINGER is not substituted when the alias is created.
