How do I prevent the view in the clipping planes window from zooming in when I fit a selected residue to the screen?

This can be done with a Maestro command. First, ensure that the Commands text box is displayed (Maestro → Command Input Area), then enter the following command

fitoptions zoom_topview=false

You can add this command to your prefer.cmd file so that it is set for all Maestro sessions.

From Suite 2011 on, there is also a preference that controls zooming in the clipping planes window. (Workspace → Clipping planes).
