Nothing happens when I click the Help button. What can I do?
The online help for Maestro and for Canvas is displayed in a web browser. It may take some time for the browser to start if it is not already running. The default (and supported) browser on Linux is Firefox and on Windows is Internet Explorer. You can change the browser used on Linux by setting the environment variable SCHRODINGER_HELP_BROWSER to point to the browser. While we expect that you can use any browser, we cannot guarantee that browsers other than the defaults will work.
There are some known incompatibilities between operating systems and browsers. If you have a version of CentOS or RedHat Linux newer than 4.3, Maestro will not open a new window or tab in Firefox 1.x if it is already running. The workarounds are to close Firefox then open the help, or to install Firefox 2.x or later.
If the help topic is not displayed the first time you open a help topic in the Maestro session, try starting the browser first, then opening the help.
