Why does surface creation run very slowly or fail?
Creating surfaces can take a large amount of memory if the structure is large. The process slows down and can fail when the memory is used up. If your computer has 1GB memory, you should consider restricting the creation of surfaces to structures that have fewer than about 3000 atoms.
