Some of my jobs died when submitted to the queue on my cluster because there are not enough licenses when the job starts running. Can I do something to prevent that?

If your queuing system is SGE, PBS Pro or LSF you can implement a license checking mechanism. Your queuing system will first check that the required resources (i.e. licenses) are available before actually starting to run your job. Details on how to implement this mechanism is available in the "Setting Up License Checking for Queueing Systems" section of the Installation Guide .
