How can I use Unix-style commands or a Unix shell on Windows?
From Suite 2011 on, you can open a specially configured DOS window, in which you can either run Unix commands or start a Unix shell. To do this, choose Start → All Programs → Schrodinger-year → Schrodinger Command Prompt. The window that opens is a DOS window in which the Schrödinger environment is set up, and includes access to many Unix commands. To start a Unix shell, enter the command "sh" in this window. You are now in a limited Unix shell (zsh to be precise).
If you have the PowerShell tools installed, you can open a Schrödinger-configured Power Shell instead of a DOS command shell, from the Start menu. This shell has the same access to Unix tools.
