I see that my job "fizzled". What does that mean?
When a job "fizzles", it means the backend could not be started. There are several common causes for this:
- The scratch directory declared by the
tmpdir:setting in the hosts file, schrodinger.hosts, does not have read and write permissions for the user. - For a remote job, passwordless ssh failed, and the remote job could not be started.
- A firewall on the remote host is blocking file transfers. In general, Schrödinger Job Control needs access to ports above 1024 on the remote host.
