My jobs fail with error messages that include 'Could not create or write to local file' and 'Could not write to remote directory'. Why is this?
This happens when you are writing files to an AFS file system, and the AFS id does not match the Linux uid. The problem is that the file and directory permissions are not interpreted correctly in these circumstances. The workaround is to ensure that the AFS id matches the Linux uid.
