I selected a few atoms within Maestro and clicked on a button, e.g. to change their color or representation, but nothing happens. What did I do wrong?

In Maestro, the concept of how to apply any sort of action to a set of atoms is slightly different. You first have to choose what you want to do by clicking on a button or in the menu and afterwards select the atoms you want to apply the command to. Alternatively, if you already selected a group of atoms, you can right-click on them and choose a command from the context menu, or, from Suite 2011 on, you can double-click some buttons to apply the action to the selected atoms.
