How can I visualize the grid boxes for an existing Glide grid?
To view the grid boxes of an existing Glide grid created using Suite 2011 or later, simply open the Ligand Docking panel in Glide, load the gridjobname.zip archive, and then select the “Display receptor” and “Show grid boxes” options in that panel. This does not work for grid archive files generated with releases prior to Suite 2011.
To view grid boxes for existing Glide grids that were created with releases prior to Suite 2011, or when you are using releases prior to Schrödinger Suite 2011, you can use the following steps:
- Place the receptor in the Workspace
- In a text editor open the gridjobname.in file
- Open the Grid Generation panel and display the Site tab
- Find the GRID_CENTER line in the gridjobname.in file and use those X, Y, and Z coordinates for values in the “Supplied X,Y,Z coordinates” text boxes under Center in the Site tab
- Find the INNERBOX line and ACT*RANGE line in the gridjobname.in file
- Subtract one of the values of the INNERBOX from one of the values from the ACT*RANGE values and round to the nearest integer to get the box size dimension
- Use the box size dimension value obtained above for the value in “Dock Ligands with length <=” under Size in the Site tab
- To view the inner box, and for non-cubic boxes click the Advanced Settings button and use the INNERBOX values from the gridjobname.in file
