How do I collect diagnostic information on my installation and send it to technical support?

As of Suite 2012, you can use the Diagnostics application, which is available from the Help menu in Maestro. If Maestro is not available, or you want to start this application independently, you can do the following:

Linux/Mac: In a terminal window, set the SCHRODINGER environment variable to point to your installation, and enter the command:

$SCHRODINGER/diagnostics

Windows: Choose Start → All Programs → Schrodinger-year → Diagnostics.

Mac: Open the Diagnostics panel from the SchrodingerSuiteyear folder of your Applications folder.

The application runs a check on your licenses and connections to remote hosts listed in your hosts file. If you want to run a test job, use the Selected Host or All Hosts button in the Hosts tab.

To send the information collected to technical support, click the Tech Support button. The information is placed in an archive with a .tarball extension, which you can email to technical support. A dialog box opens, giving instructions and the location of the file.

For Suite 2011, you must run the installation check utility. You can also run this utility in Suite 2012. See Article 1600 for information on this utility.
