When I move the pointer out of a dialog box to another window, the dialog box disappears. How do I stop this happening?
This can happen on Linux when using the KDE desktop manager. If you have the focus set to strictly under mouse, and you also have "Hide utility windows for inactive applications" set, the dependent windows such as dialog boxes disappear when you move the pointer out of the parent window. To fix this problem, in the KDE Control Center, go to Desktop → Window Behavior → Advanced, and deselect "Hide utility windows for inactive applications".
