Can I choose the location where temporary files for project backups are kept?
Yes. Backups (including automatic backups) first write out a temporary project (.prj) and then compress them into a zipped project (.prjzip). The location of the temporary project can be controlled by setting the SCHRODINGER_TEMP_PROJECT environment variable.
You might want to set the temporary location if you are exceeding your disk quota, or if I/O performance is slow. In the latter, case you should set SCHRODINGER_TEMP_PROJECT to a location on a local disk or a fast networked disk.
