Maestro projects sent to compressed zipped folders on Windows XP are incomplete and cannot be opened. What should I do?
This is a known behavior on Windows XP and Vista: folder names beginning with a dot (.), such as .mmproj_admin, are not recognized as valid and are not processed correctly when using right-click → Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder. Some alternatives for creating zipped projects are:
- Use Project → Export Project (Suite 2010 on) or Project → Copy to (Suite 2009) to create a .prjzip file containing the project. This is the recommended solution.
- Use Windows 7, which does not have this problem.
- Use third-party archiving software (jZip, WinZip, 7-Zip, WinRAR, etc.)
