How do I configure my Linux system to use a Zalman monitor for interlaced stereo with an Nvidia graphics card?
To configure your system to use interlaced stereo on Linux with Maestro:
1) Make sure that Section "Device" in xorg.conf correctly lists
Driver "nvidia"
2) Make sure that Section "Monitor" has the correct settings. Below is the example from our Linux machine:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Dell"
ModelName "Latitude D820 1680x1050"
DisplaySize 331 212
HorizSync 31.0 - 90.0
VertRefresh 60.0 - 60.0
Option "dpms"
3) Make sure that in Section "Module" the line:
# Load "dri"
is not present or is commented out (as shown here).
4) Make sure that the video card is capable of displaying in the monitor's native resolution (should be 1680x1050). Make sure to set the Linux desktop to this native resolution.
5) Make sure that you use Maestro version no earlier than 9.0.109 (previous versions are not supported). Go to View → Stereo → 3D Options (Suite 2010 on) or Display → Display Options → 3D (2009) and for Method, choose "Interlaced", and select "Display in stereo".
