When trying to start Maestro on Fedora 9, we got the following error message. What can we do?
error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Maestro: Could not load shared library
It is likely that you do not have certain libraries installed on you machine. In this particular case, it appears that the software is looking for the libX11.so.6 library, provided by the libX11.i386 package. Maestro is a 32-bit application (up to Suite 2009), but it will run on 64-bit machines if these libraries are installed.
Note that Fedora is not a supported version of Linux.
Keywords: libX11, error while loading shared libraries, Maestro
