I have a license server, and I would like to run Maestro on a new, different Windows machine. How do I set up the license ?
There are two options:
1) Set an environment variable, SCHROD_LICENSE_FILE.
2) Copy the license file itself to the installation directory on your Windows machine.
Details are given below.
1) Set the environment variable SCHROD_LICENSE_FILE to the name of the remote license server. The name of the license server is given on the SERVER line in the license file sent by licensing@schrodinger.com.
The format for the value is "[port]@host". The [port] is optional, and only needed if a port is given on the SERVER line of the license.
For instance, if your license server had a hostname of "server", you would set the environment variable SCHROD_LICENSE_FILE, and give it a value of "@server". If your license file has a port included, you would add the port, for instance "27101@server".
Alternatively, you can set the environment variable SCHROD_LICENSE_FILE to use the IP address of the server machine. The format is [port]@IP-address.
For instance "27101@192.168.101.101".
Instructions for setting environment variables under Windows can be found in Appendix A of the Installation Guide.
2) Copy the license file that you received from licensing@schrodinger.com to the installation directory (%SCHRODINGER%) on your Windows machine. This file should have a SERVER line that specifies the host name of the license server. The file should be named license.txt. Ensure that it is not named "license.txt.txt" by viewing file extensions.
