I can't launch PyMOL from Maestro. PyMOL is installed and runs fine on our system, its path is defined and there's an alias called pymol. What seems to be the issue?
The issue is probably that Maestro can't find PyMOL. To ensure that Maestro can find PyMOL, you need to do one of the following:
- Set the PYMOL4MAESTRO environment variable or the PYMOL_PATH environment variable to point to the top-level directory of your PyMOL installation.
- Copy the PyMOL launch script (named
pymol) to your Schrödinger installation directory. - Add a script in your Schrödinger installation directory named
pymol4maestrothat runs PyMOL. - Install PyMOL into the
pymolfolder/directory of your Schrödinger installation directory.
If you have an alias named pymol that points to an executable that is not named pymol, Maestro will not be able to open PyMOL. To fix this problem, you can create a symbolic link from pymol to the executable in the directory that contains the executable.
Keywords: pymol4maestro.py, pymol for maestro
