What do these X errors indicate?

X Error: BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter) 4
Major opcode: 54 (X_FreePixmap)
Resource id: 0x10000000
X Error: RenderBadPicture (invalid Picture parameter) 153
Extension: 139 (RENDER)
Minor opcode: 7 (RenderFreePicture)
Resource id: 0x10000000

The error on start-up is:

$SCHRODINGER/maestro -SGL
X Error: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) 8
Extension: 153 (RENDER)
Minor opcode: 4 (RenderCreatePicture)
Resource id: 0x3200420

This information indicates that you have not installed drivers with hardware accelerated OpenGL for your video card, or that such drivers are installed incorrectly, or that the drivers have not been loaded. If your drivers have just been updated, you may need to reboot your machine for them to be loaded. You will see errors like the following if the drivers are present but not loaded:

X Error: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation) 1
  Extension: 135 (Uknown extension)
  Minor opcode: 198 (Unknown request)
  Resource id: 0x28005ea

As a fallback, you may continue launching Maestro with the -SGL option, which should be sufficient for regular use. However, you might have performance issues if you try to display large complex systems, as the CPU will be doing the graphics card's job in this software OpenGL mode. To use hardware acceleration, you need to download and install drivers from the manufacturer's web site appropriate for your graphics card and operating system.

If the drivers are not available, which is often the case for integrated on-board video cards on Intel motherboards, for example, to get better performance, please install and properly configure a dedicated graphics card.
