Display of 3D surfaces causes Maestro to freeze. Sometimes, after creating a surface, it can only display as mesh or dots, but not as a solid surface.
Try launching Maestro in software OpenGL mode with -SGL option i.e.:
$SCHRODINGER/maestro -SGL.
If this works, it is likely that the problem is the graphics card. Certain onboard integrated graphics cards show problems with Maestro (and also other OpenGL software). In some cases updating the driver for the card has solved the problem; in others, a dedicated high-quality graphics card is needed.
