The job launch panel allows for the input of the username. Why would this be needed?

This option was included for various reasons; for example, cases when you have a different user name on the cluster to which you want to submit the job.

However, since there are other and better methods for controlling this setting (for example, via the schrodinger.hosts file) this option was removed from the Start panel in the Suite 2010 release.
