How do I search all the manuals for a word or phrase?

A search facility is available with the installed documentation. To use this facility, you must have Adobe Reader 6.0 or later installed.

To do a search from Maestro:

  • Choose Help → Search Manuals.

To do a search outside Maestro:

  • Open Suite_year_Search.pdx in Adobe Reader.

Here year is the 4-digit year, e.g. 2010. This file is in the docs subdirectory of your software installation.

On Linux, you can do this with the following command:

acroread $SCHRODINGER/docs/Suite_year_Search.pdx

On Windows, you can simply double-click the icon for this file. If you are prompted to choose an application, select Adobe Reader and ensure that you always use Adobe Reader for files of this type.

Adobe Reader opens with the Search PDF tab displayed and the search index selected. You can then type in the word or phrase you want to search for.

Keywords: Search, documentation, find
