Schrödinger Partners with Cycle Computing to Provide Cloud Computing Solutions

NEW YORK, NY (April 27, 2009) – Schrödinger, LLC and Cycle Computing, LLC announced today that they will offer cloud computing solutions to run Schrödinger’s chemical simulation and molecular modeling software on elastic resources in the US and Europe. Cloud computing provides users timely access to computational resources as needed, without prohibitive upfront capital investment in, nor the burden of administering and maintaining, large computer clusters.

"Cycle Computing's expertise in the cloud along with their CycleCloud platform will enable our users to flexibly carry out larger-scale computations as dictated by research projects," says Dr. Ramy Farid, Schrödinger's President, who adds, "Cycle's high level of service and support will also benefit our users." Jason Stowe, Cycle's CEO, sees great synergy in partnering with Schrödinger, "The Schrödinger competitive advantage in molecular simulations is clear, and our combined CycleCloud offering will make access to Schrödinger’s industry-leading science on large-scale compute clusters both cost-effective and effortless for everyone, small and large organizations alike."

Schrödinger’s software running on the CycleCloud platform will be demonstrated at BioIT World, Boston, on Tuesday afternoon, April 28, at the Cycle Computing booth (231) at the Expo.
