The 2007 Schrödinger Suite and subsequent product releases will continue to support Linux on 32- and 64-bit x86 platforms. We intend to remain compatible with the latest offerings from AMD and Intel. In addition, Jaguar is supported on SGI Altix platforms running Linux, and we will add support for generic Itanium platforms running Linux. For products that support the AIX operating system, AIX-pwr3 support will be discontinued in favor of AIX-pwr4 support.
In order to minimize the time
required to make new technology available to researchers, Schrödinger
aims to streamline its development as much as possible without
compromising the quality of the software. After informally surveying
customers, we have decided to discontinue development for the SGI IRIX
platform. The forthcoming 2007 Schrödinger Suite, scheduled for release
early next year, will be the last major release of Schrödinger software
that will support SGI IRIX.
