Working with Labels and Ribbons
Create and modify auxiliary objects in the Workspace.
Labeling the ligand
To display a label alongside the ligand in the Workspace:
- Click "L" in the Quick Select area to select the ligand
- Open the Style Toolbox, click Add Labels and choose "Residue Information" from the menu
Showing ribbons on a protein
To show ribbons on a protein:
- Click "P" in the Quick Select area to select the protein
- Open the Style Toolbox and click Add Ribbons
Changing the ribbon color
With the protein still selected:
- Right-click on the ribbon to show the "Edit Ribbon" popup
- In the color scheme dropdown, select "Chain Name"
To dismiss the popup, click anywhere outside it.
Hiding and showing auxiliary objects
The Workspace Configuration Toolbar allows you to temporarily mute objects such as labels and ribbons:
- Click the corresponding blue circle in the Workspace Configuration toolbar to hide the labels and ribbons created in the Workspace
- Click again to turn the objects back on
