Working with Surfaces
Use the Surface button in the Style Toolbox to create a molecular surface, then modify it with right-click options.
Creating a binding site surface
- In the Quick Select area of the Selection Toolbar, click the ... menu button and choose Binding Sites
- Open the Style Toolbox and click the Surface button; the binding site surface will appear
Changing the surface display
- Move the mouse over the surface until the surface cursor appears, then right-click to bring up the Surface menu
- Choose Display Options ...
- In the Surface Display Options dialog:
- Set the Transparency to 30%
- Change the Color scheme to Electrostatic Potential
Hiding surfaces in the Workspace
- Click the Surfaces toggle in the Workspace Configuration Toolbar to temporarily hide the surface
