How do I make rsync_pdb and update_BLASTDB work with a proxy server using the web_proxy.json file, which I set up for getpdb? At present it fails with the error
rsync: failed to connect to prime.schrodinger.com: Network is unreachable (101)
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(124) [receiver=3.0.6]
You can do this by setting the environment variable RSYNC_PROXY to user@proxyservername:port. This should tell the rsync_pdb and update_BLASTDB scripts to use your proxy server. You will have to supply your password when the proxy server is contacted.
Note that this does not work if you use these scripts with the -f option, which uses wget instead of rsync. This means that you cannot use this mechanism on Windows, which uses wget.
