We’re looking to hire an Applications Scientist to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.

As a member of our Northeast Applications Science team, you’ll provide strategic scientific support for customers ranging from large pharmas to biotechs, as well as academic institutions. You’ll be trained in the optimal use of our life science software, from adoption to advanced usage. Alongside your fellow Applications Scientists, you’ll consult with our life science customers and help them to tackle various challenging drug discovery problems.

What you’ll do:

What you should have:

  • PhD in computational chemistry,  cheminformatics, computational biology, or a related field
  • Experience in one of the following: molecular dynamics simulations/enhanced sampling/free energy calculation methods, ligand-based drug design, chemoinformatics, quantum mechanics, and/or structural modeling
  • Python programming experience
  • At least one year of post-doctoral/industry experience is preferred
  • Medicinal chemistry knowledge and an understanding of the commercial drug discovery process are pluses!
  • Willingness to travel

We’re seeking an Applications Scientist to help us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods. This employee will focus on educating current and prospective customers on the optimal use of our groundbreaking computational platform.

As a member of our European Applications Science team, you’ll train and guide customers in their use of our state-of-the-art molecular modeling suites and enterprise informatics tools, support them in their research, and address challenging problems in drug discovery. You’ll focus on the expansion of modeling usage and knowledge for molecular designers.

  • Substantial teaching experience with PhD/postdoctoral students 
  • A solid understanding of the commercial drug discovery process
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Willingness to travel about 30% + of the time
  • A robust background in at least two of the following areas: medicinal chemistry, molecular simulation methods, biologics design, ligand-based drug design, python programming, AI/machine learning methods, quantum mechanics, and/or protein structure modeling

This position requires travel to visit customers in Japan and to attend international meetings a few times a year.

This job consists of pre- and post-sales software support (including demonstrations and training for optimal use of our materials science softwares), facilitation of interactions between customers and product development teams, and providing general scientific guidance. Overview:

Schrodinger is looking for an associate for our Quality Assurance team based in Hyderabad. The team is responsible for ensuring the quality of different kinds of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include working on the design, implementation, and administration of testing strategies to assess cutting-edge, web-based applications for pharmaceutical data sharing and management.

The candidate must be highly motivated, comfortable working under deadlines, pay significant attention to detail, and possess the ability to be both self-directed yet work well within a team.

This person should have exposure to high-end web browser usage and web surfing. Prior experience in software testing and automation with Selenium would be an added advantage.

Skills Required: 

- An impressive educational background, preferably with a master’s degree in chemistry, pharmaceuticals, or physics, with zero to two years of experience in a position offering high exposure to computers and software.

- Thorough analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

- Any prior experience with Python and shell scripting will be preferred.

- Prior exposure to Schrodinger software would be greatly encouraged.

- Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle and software quality assurance (and Selenium or any other GUI testing tools) would be added advantage.

We are looking to hire a part-time Bioanalytical Scientist to join us in our mission to discover and develop drugs that improve human health through the use of breakthrough computational methods. We are seeking outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery group and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of drug discovery programs and collaborations. 

Our drug discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers as well as a large-scale compute infrastructure to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Ten of the programs we’ve worked on have progressed into preclinical development with four currently in clinical trials and one approved by the FDA.

  • Collaborate as a key contributor to Schrödinger’s drug discovery and development programs across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Manage the bioanalytical aspects of non-clinical and clinical studies for small molecules conducted at contract research organizations (CROs) 
  • Provide oversight of bioanalytical method development, validation and sample analysis 
  • Review and select bioanalytical vendors and conduct site visits as needed
  • Ensure compliance with GLP/GCP regulations
  • Author and review protocols, bioanalytical data, bioanalytical reports and regulatory documents
  • Assist in the preparation of the clinical lab manual
  • Contribute to the submissions and responses to regulatory agencies related to bioanalysis
  • Contributing to departmental SOPs

What you should have:

  • Ph.D in life sciences, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutical sciences or related discipline
  • Drug development experience preferably advancing small molecule product(s) from P1 to approval and supporting post-marketing/commercial activities
  • A strong background in regulated bioanalysis (at least 10 years at a pharmaceutical company) with a thorough understanding of the requirements for assay development/transfer/qualification/validation to external partners (CROs/CMOs) in a GLP/GxP environment
  • Extensive experience in selecting, inspecting and managing bioanalytical work at CROs
  • Extensive experience in preparing regulatory documents related to bioanalysis
  • Strong knowledge in GLP/GCP regulations and regulatory guidance documents that apply to bioanalysis
  • Track record of working on cross-functional development teams, with evidence of providing deliverables against pre-specified timelines, quality and cost metrics
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be an effective team player and subject matter expert on cross-functional teams

Our competitive intelligence and strategy team is developing systems to track, analyse, and synthesise data and trends to inform decision making.  We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join our team and help us keep our finger on the pulse of an increasingly complex and active biopharma landscape to inform our portfolio strategy and early stage drug discovery efforts. 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify key needs and design and implement solutions with competitive intelligence analysts, data scientists, biologists, and early stage drug discovery leads.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain systems integrating datasets from disparate sources to identify key opportunities for early and late stage drug discovery programs.
  • Capture high impact information relevant to drug discovery programs, targets under analysis, and novel opportunities.
  • Develop automated methods to prioritise and filter important and relevant information from the noise, through e.g. keywords and active learning methods. 
  • Design and develop efficient and user friendly interfaces and dashboards for tracking and alerting to changes over time and identifying trends around mechanisms of action, industry catalysts, and proofs of concept.
  • Propose solutions to integrate public data with private databases across different disciplines.
  • Identify blind spots in our information gathering, synthesis, and presentation, to lead the design and deployment of prototypes and solutions.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Master’s or PhD in data science, computer science, life sciences or related fields.
  • Demonstrated track record of turning ideas and information processing problems into prototypes and solutions
  • Passion for automating anything and everything that can be automated

  • Prior industry experience in the life sciences / biopharma highly desirable

Schrödinger seeks a Director of Clinical Biomarkers with expertise in hematology/oncology to join our Drug Discovery and Early Development team. By focusing on the development, delivery and implementation of clinical biomarker plans (e.g., patient selection, target engagement, pharmacodynamic and mechanistic biomarkers, etc.), this Director will ensure stakeholder input and alignment, helping us identify, optimize and implement those biomarkers considered most robust, translatable, and relevant to our clinical and regulatory strategies.

Our drug discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers, as well as a large-scale compute infrastructure, to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Ten of the programs we’ve worked on with collaborators have progressed into preclinical development, with four currently in clinical trials.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with nonclinical, translational, and clinical scientists to develop clinical biomarker plans and strategies for Schrödinger’s clinical-stage programs
  • Lead implementation of clinical biomarker plans, including:
    • Identification and selection of vendors appropriate to support clinical sample analysis for biomarkers
    • Development/transfer of assays for clinical biomarkers at selected vendors and oversight of assay development, fit-for-purpose validation, and assay report generation
    • Oversight of bioanalytical assay scientist(s) at CROs
    • Clinical site education/training to ensure appropriate sample management
    • Partnering with clinical operations scientists to facilitate clinical sample management and analysis in support of data generation and sample analysis reports, in accordance with agreed-upon quality standards and timelines
  • Collaborate with clinical pharmacology, biostatistics, and data management scientists to ensure appropriate data analysis, reporting, and interpretation of raw biomarker data, PD and PK/PD analyses 
  • Work with discovery and translational functions on proactive biomarker planning and generation of IND-enabling non-clinical data for early-stage compounds
  • Assist in companion diagnostic development or potential companion diagnostic partnerships to ensure that companion diagnostic assays meet all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to creation of regulatory and clinical documents, posters, and publications
  • Support pharmacokinetic (PK) bioanalysis of clinical samples, including both the scientific components (e.g., sample preparation, compound detection) and operational aspects (e.g., site training, PK sample collection/handling/storage/tracking and PK sample issue resolution) is desired but not required

What you should have:

  • Experience in in the biological or medical sciences (with a focus on biomarkers and clinical biomarker assay development and implementation) - at least eight years with an advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent), or fifteen with a Bachelor’s
  • Deep familiarity with common clinical biomarker assay platforms, including genomic, ELISA, flow cytometry, other ligand-binding methods and cell-based ex vivo assays
  • Excellent understanding of the requirements for fit-for-purpose, GLP-compliant, or CLIA-compliant assay validation, and has applied these standards appropriately based on development stage and biomarker status in the program

We’re seeking a Director of Quality Assurance and Compliance to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!

As a member of our Drug Discovery group, you will oversee the Quality Management System (in accordance with government regulations and company policy) for a biotech specializing in clinical research. Your expertise in IND-enabling and early clinical development will make you an essential part of our team. You will report to the Head of Early Clinical Development. 

Our drug discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of experts advancing compounds into the clinic. Indications are therapeutically agonistic, but have a strong focus on oncology and inflammation/immunology. The group applies our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform to the drug discovery process, which has successfully advanced ten programs into preclinical development, four programs into clinical development, and one to an FDA approval.

We are looking to hire a Director of Medicinal Chemistry to join us in our mission to discover and develop drugs that improve human health through the use of breakthrough computational methods. Our drug discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers as well as a large-scale compute infrastructure to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Responsibilities:

  • Lead drug discovery programs in effective collaboration with cross-functional teams 
  • Implement and execute medicinal chemistry strategies to deliver high quality clinical candidates 
  • Collaborate effectively with computational chemists and modelers on application of the Schrödinger’s computational drug discovery platform to rapid advancement of drug discovery programs

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry with 12+ years of drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology setting
  • Medicinal Chemistry expert with excellent understanding of biology, pharmacology, DMPK and ability to integrate these disciplines toward successful project progression
  • Demonstrated strong track record in medicinal chemistry as evidenced by successful advancement of multiple drug discovery projects to clinical candidate nomination

Schrödinger seeks an outstanding Regulatory Chemistry, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) Director with expertise in early clinical development to join our New York team. This hire will utilize CMC technical knowledge and regulatory science expertise to develop submissions for Schrödinger’s internal portfolio of molecules that are advancing into the clinic. Computational Drug Discovery Scientist

Schrödinger’s mission is to revolutionise drug discovery through the use of breakthrough computational methods.  We are currently looking for outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery group and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of drug discovery collaborations.

Our drug discovery group of around 100 scientists includes designers, modellers, computational chemists, medicinal chemists, crystallographers, biochemists, and biologists with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers as well as a large scale computing infrastructure. Four of the programs we’ve worked on in the past 7 years have progressed into the clinic; two are still progressing through trials and two have been approved by the FDA.  

We are looking for a highly motivated synthetic organic chemist to join our team of scientists to advance drug discovery projects driven by cutting-edge computational methods in structure-based drug discovery. The ideal  candidate will be an expert in modern methods of organic synthesis and hands-on experience in planning and execution of multi-step synthesis of  complex heterocycles and/or natural products. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide synthetic chemistry expertise and actively collaborate with computational chemists, medicinal chemists, biologists and other scientists in drug discovery projects
  • Design and optimise synthetic routes for small molecule targets emerging from next generation modelling approaches  
  • Manage CRO-based synthesis efforts to access small molecule targets 
  • Contribute to evaluation of new drug target opportunities 
  • Work closely with the internal software development teams to improve Schrödinger’s drug discovery technologies

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with postdoctoral training (preferred) and 4+ years of relevant experience (Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry, CRO, or other relevant experience).
  • Expert knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and strong track record of planning and hands-on execution of multi-step synthesis. Extensive experience in the synthesis of heterocycles and drug-like compounds and/or complex natural products.
  • Proficient in interpretation of analytical methods for compound characterisations (1D and 2D NMR, LC/MS, and other analytical techniques).
  • Demonstrated track record of innovative solutions to research problems and delivering on project goals

    • Oversight of bioanalytical assay scientist(s) at CROs
    • Clinical site education/training to ensure appropriate sample management

  • Collaborate with clinical pharmacology, biostatistics, and data management scientists to ensure appropriate data analysis, reporting, and interpretation of raw biomarker data, PD and PK/PD analyses 
  • Work with discovery and translational functions on proactive biomarker planning and generation of IND-enabling non-clinical data for early-stage compounds
  • Assist in companion diagnostic development or potential companion diagnostic partnerships to ensure that companion diagnostic assays meet all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to creation of regulatory and clinical documents, posters, and publications
  • Support pharmacokinetic (PK) bioanalysis of clinical samples, including both the scientific components (e.g., sample preparation, compound detection) and operational aspects (e.g., site training, PK sample collection/handling/storage/tracking and PK sample issue resolution) is desired but not required
  • Take a leading role in recruiting, overseeing and guiding earlier career translational scientists in the fulfillment of these responsibilities

What you should have:

  • Experience in in the biological or medical sciences (with a focus on biomarkers and clinical biomarker assay development and implementation) - at least twelve years with an advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent), or eighteen with a Bachelor’s

Computational Drug Discovery Scientist

Schrödinger’s mission is to revolutionise drug discovery through the use of breakthrough computational methods.  We are currently looking for outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery group and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of drug discovery collaborations.

Our drug discovery group of around 100 scientists includes designers, modellers, computational chemists, medicinal chemists, crystallographers, biochemists, and biologists with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers as well as a large scale computing infrastructure. Four of the programs we’ve worked on in the past 7 years have progressed into the clinic; two are still progressing through trials and two have been approved by the FDA.  

We are looking for a highly motivated synthetic organic chemist to join our team of scientists to advance drug discovery projects driven by cutting-edge computational methods in structure-based drug discovery. The ideal  candidate will be an expert in modern methods of organic synthesis and hands-on experience in planning and execution of multi-step synthesis of  complex heterocycles and/or natural products. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide synthetic chemistry expertise and actively collaborate with computational chemists, medicinal chemists, biologists and other scientists in drug discovery projects
  • Design and optimise synthetic routes for small molecule targets emerging from next generation modelling approaches  
  • Manage CRO-based synthesis efforts to access small molecule targets 
  • Contribute to evaluation of new drug target opportunities 
  • Work closely with the internal software development teams to improve Schrödinger’s drug discovery technologies

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with postdoctoral training (preferred) and 4+ years of relevant experience (Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry, CRO, or other relevant experience).
  • Expert knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and strong track record of planning and hands-on execution of multi-step synthesis. Extensive experience in the synthesis of heterocycles and drug-like compounds and/or complex natural products.
  • Proficient in interpretation of analytical methods for compound characterisations (1D and 2D NMR, LC/MS, and other analytical techniques).
  • Demonstrated track record of innovative solutions to research problems and delivering on project goals
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)

  • Review complex software, service, and collaboration contracts and schedule revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP, ASC 606, and/or ASC 808
  • Analyze and document the revenue treatment of deals
 to identify non-standard terms with revenue impacts
  • Read and interpret legal language in contracts, research accounting guidance and summarize in technical memos
  • Analyze the stand-alone selling price, management judgements, and other assumptions used to assess revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Perform fluctuation analysis on revenue metrics 
  • Perform monthly and quarterly close procedures

  • Interact with and provide information to external auditors as necessary

  • Assist in ad hoc analysis and projects as necessary

As an Account Manager, you’ll help us expand further into the life science computational chemistry, enterprise informatics, and database visualization markets by cultivating existing customer relationships and creating new business opportunities. What you’ll do: 
  • Manage and grow existing accounts

Schrödinger is expanding its offerings beyond technology-leading computational chemistry software into the areas of materials science, biologics, enterprise informatics, databases, and visualization. The new Account Manager will play an integral part in this expansion by growing current customer relationships and creating new business opportunities. More specifically, the new Account Manager will be responsible for growing the Biotech customer segment within their region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business
  • Nuture and grow existing accounts
  • Work with different teams to support accounts needs
  • Collaborate with the EU team to develop business and marketing strategies to target specific customer segments

Qualifications:
