We’re looking to hire an Applications Scientist to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods.

Schrödinger is on the cutting edge of computer-aided drug discovery and materials science. We set the record for the largest and fastest cloud computing run, and our software suites continue to revolutionize the design of therapeutics and materials. FEP+, WaterMap, Glide, Maestro, and LiveDesign are just a few examples of the programs we’ve created.

As a member of our Northeast Applications Science team, you’ll provide strategic scientific support for customers ranging from large pharmas to biotechs, as well as academic institutions. You’ll be trained in the optimal use of our life science software, from adoption to advanced usage. Alongside your fellow Applications Scientists, you’ll consult with our life science customers and help them to tackle various challenging drug discovery problems.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide scientific support to current and prospective life science customers, which includes demonstrating the optimal use of our life science software suites, facilitating interactions between customers and product development teams, and providing general scientific guidance

What you should have:

  • PhD in computational chemistry,  cheminformatics, computational biology, or a related field
  • Post-doctoral research and/or relevant experience in the commercial sector
  • Experience in one of the following: molecular dynamics simulations/enhanced sampling/free energy calculation methods, ligand-based drug design, chemoinformatics, quantum mechanics, and/or structural modeling
  • Python programming experience
  • Medicinal chemistry knowledge and an understanding of the commercial drug discovery process are pluses!

Estimated base salary range (NYC only): $120,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation package is dependent on a number of factors, including, for example, experience, education, degrees held, market data, and business needs. This job consists of pre- and post-sales software support (including demonstrations and training for optimal use of our materials science softwares), facilitation of interactions between customers and product development teams, and providing general scientific guidance. This hire will report to the Head of Early Clinical Development and will play an essential role in a broad range of activities necessary to drive and manage critical strategic and operational aspects of a dynamic early clinical development (ECD) team.

Our ECD team supports drug development through clinical proof of concept and includes a cross-functional group of experts responsible for clinical sciences, clinical operations, regulatory sciences, regulatory operations, clinical quality and medical writing. We are looking to hire a highly motivated Senior or Principal Scientist with experience in Structural Biology to join us in our mission to discover and develop drugs that improve human health using breakthrough computational methods. We are seeking outstanding individuals to join our drug discovery group and contribute to our rapidly expanding portfolio of drug discovery programs and collaborations.

Our drug discovery and early clinical development team includes a cross-functional group of scientists and drug developers with experience working on all common target classes and therapeutic areas. The group is supported by more than 100 software developers and engineers as well as a large-scale computer infrastructure to apply our proprietary physics-based drug design and optimization platform. Ten of the programs we’ve worked on have progressed into preclinical development with four currently in clinical trials and one approved by the FDA.

Duties: Lead applications and operations teams in the development of automated lifecycle including

infrastructure-related issues in our development and production deployments. Manage and coordinate

Office Management/Facilities

Schrödinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science research and development, is seeking a Facilities & Operations Assistant for an immediate permanent position reporting to the Office Manager. This position requires in-office attendance, Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM. 

Work Locations: Primary work location is in Natick/Framingham. Secondary work location is in Cambridge. Office location will vary depending on the day of the week.  

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Building desks and other office furniture as needed
  • Organizing, stocking and maintaining of the Office Management storage areas, including receiving and unpacking boxes 
  • General office maintenance and lab tasks including, e.g.,  conference room and event set-up and clean-up, etc. 
  • Stocking of kitchens and copy areas, including resupply and inventory 
  • Interacting with, developing, and maintaining positive vendor relationships relating to facility and Office Management and laboratory services 
  • Monthly expense report management 
  • Collaborating with existing Senior Office Management team member to brainstorm events, effective department procedures, and new ideas related to office life 
  • Packaging and preparing domestic and international paperwork shipments for Fed Ex, DHL, and World Courier, as well as local courier
  • Backup, vacation, and as-needed reception support for the office including: emailing, scheduling, calendar maintenance, signing for packages, scanning, answering phones, mailing, organization, supplying guest passes, booking conference rooms, making reservations, and greeting all guests, as well as any other duties as requested by the Office Manager 
  • Must be able to learn and assist in procurement of lab and office supplies.
  • Must be willing to help develop, update, and coordinate lab supply inventory system
  • Greeting visitors and guests and escorting to areas of work for time in office.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Be comfortable lifting and handling heavy boxes and materials on a daily basis.

This is a new role within the Investor Relations Corporate Affairs team and will report to the senior vice president of investor relations and corporate affairs.
